Veterans. Community. Action. Three guiding principles define Carroll’s campaign to strengthen the VFW, empower its members, and deliver meaningful results for veterans nationwide.

Jeff Carroll, a distinguished United States Air Force veteran and accomplished Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) leader, has officially announced his candidacy for National Junior Vice Commander-in-Chief for the 2030–2031 term. With decades of military and organizational leadership experience, Carroll brings a proven record of service, innovation, and results to his campaign.

His campaign centers on three guiding principles: Veterans. Community. Action. Together, they represent his commitment to protecting veterans, strengthening the VFW’s presence in communities nationwide, and advancing practical solutions that position the organization for continued success.

“Every decision begins with one question: How does this improve the lives of veterans?” Carroll emphasized. “We exist because of veterans. Every program, every dollar, every decision should improve their lives.”

A Lifetime of Service and Proven Leadership

Carroll proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1989, earning three Air Force Commendation Medals and the Korea Defense Service Medal. As a computer programmer, he helped develop the Air Force’s first PC-based load planning software, improving airlift operations involving C-130, C-141, and C-5 aircraft.

His military accomplishments also included recognition as an Outstanding Operations Supervisor and John Levitow Honor Graduate at Air University’s NCO Leadership School.

A Gold Legacy Life Member of VFW Post 2667 in Newnan, Georgia, Carroll has served the organization at virtually every level, including Post Commander, District Commander, State Commander, State Quartermaster, National Council Member, and National Chief of Staff.

His achievements include four All-State Post Commander awards, All-American Post Commander and District Commander honors, Triple Crown All-American State Commander recognition, and the prestigious Commander-in-Chief Gold Medal Award.

During his leadership, Georgia finished first in the Southern Conference and third nationally, demonstrating his ability to build effective teams, inspire membership engagement, and deliver measurable results.

Veterans: Putting the Mission First

Carroll believes the VFW must remain an unwavering advocate for those who have served.

His priorities include protecting earned benefits, expanding access to quality healthcare, improving veterans’ claims assistance, supporting transitioning service members, combating veteran isolation and suicide, and ensuring the VFW remains a powerful voice on Capitol Hill.

For Carroll, advocacy must translate into meaningful improvements in veterans’ everyday lives.

Community: Strengthening Posts Through Engagement

Recognizing that strong communities build strong VFW Posts, Carroll advocates expanding the organization’s visibility and impact beyond its membership.

His vision emphasizes community service, disaster relief, partnerships with schools and local businesses, and signature VFW programs such as Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and Teacher of the Year.

“The community should see the VFW not only as a veterans organization, but as a community leader,” Carroll stated.

By building stronger community relationships, Carroll believes Posts can increase their relevance, attract new members, and create lasting opportunities to serve veterans and their families.

Action: Leadership That Delivers Results

Throughout his VFW career, Carroll has demonstrated a willingness to embrace innovation and modernize organizational operations.

He has taught technology and social media classes, helped Posts establish their online presence, developed Georgia’s VFW dashboard, improved reporting systems, and worked extensively to digitize historical records for future generations.

His national leadership experience includes service on the Budget & Finance, General Resolutions, Programs, and Internal Finance and Organization Committees, along with chairmanship of the Time & Place Committee.

Carroll believes effective leadership requires more than identifying challenges. It demands building teams, making decisions, following through, and measuring results.

“Leadership is more than meetings,” Carroll emphasized. “Ideas only matter when they’re put into action.”

Building the VFW’s Future Together

As he launches his campaign, Carroll is focused on honoring the VFW’s proud legacy while preparing the organization for tomorrow’s challenges.

His message to fellow members is straightforward: put veterans first, strengthen communities, embrace innovation, and take meaningful action.

“The VFW has a proud history, but we also have an exciting future if we’re willing to lead it,” Carroll said.

With a lifetime of service and a demonstrated record of accomplishment, Carroll looks forward to connecting with VFW members nationwide, sharing his vision, and earning their confidence.

“I would be honored to earn your trust, your support, and your vote.”Veterans. Community. Action. Together, building a stronger VFW.
